Lani is a graphic designer and digital marketer born and bred in the Bay Area. Her work is largely influenced by her immigrant family; the flea markets she grew up going to; family parties drenched in the scent of carne asada; jazz, funk, latin, and soul music album covers; and the cultural diversity of the Bay Area.

In 2017 she co-founded Backtalk Videográfica, a design studio specializing in graphic design and cinematography for films. Her work has supported films that have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and on platforms such as The Atlantic, PBS, and Topic. After 8 years as a freelance entrepreneur, she has expanded her practice into digital marketing, bringing her visual storytelling expertise to paid advertising, brand governance, conversion-focused design, and AI search optimization. She holds an M.A. in Media Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Documentary Media Studies from The New School, and a B.A. in Sociology from San Francisco State University. Lani is currently open to full-time graphic design and digital marketing opportunities.
